A feast of capitals — China International Private Equity Forum offers financing platform for enterprises

The 10th China International Private Equity Forum (CIPEF) was held under the theme of “New Normal, New Opportunity, New Momentum” in Tianjin, May 30 -31, 2016. It aims to serve real economy and focuses on the city’s status as a pilot free trade zone, hoping to promote the cooperation and communication among the sectors of finance, technology and industries. This year’s CIPEF contained four major parts — high-end forums that invited domestic and foreign dignitaries and renowned scholars and experts to discuss hot topics; financing promotions that helped attract investment for the transformation of traditional enterprises, mergers and acquisitions of advantageous enterprises, development and financing of innovation-oriented companies, and government-led projects; exhibitions and presentations that displayed the progress of pilot free trade zone and introduced the banks and enterprises from countries and regions along the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road; and the exchange activities such as the annual conference of Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and the “Night of Fund”.

Approved by the State Council and sponsored by the municipal government of Tianjin, All-China Federation of Industry Commerce, and Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the CIPEF has been successfully held for 10 sessions since 2007. It adopts the meeting mechanism of the ACG and provides a financing platform for enterprises through capital connection and effective matchmaking services among attending companies.

The first China International Private Equity Forum (CIPEF), which was held in Tianjin in June 2007, has become the world’s largest and the most influential conference in the field of international investment and financing. In order to speed up the financial reform and innovation and seek more direct investment in Binhai New Area, the sponsors have agreed to make it an annual event in Tianjin ever since 2007.

The CIPEF aims to build an international, market-oriented, and industrialized service value chain through setting up a capital trading-oriented platform. The organizing committee strengthened the exchange and cooperation, as well as established strategic cooperative relationship with guilds and international equity investment fund organizations from China and the Americas, Europe, Oceania and Asia. Meanwhile, the CIPEF constantly integrates all kinds of advantageous resources from all parties, promotes its marketalization, launched a company and website for international financing service, the Tianjin Binhai International Equity Exchange, and established strategic cooperative relationship with all kinds of financial institutions, intermediary organizations, governmental organs, as well as universities and colleges, and boosted the integration of real economy and financial capital.

The CIPEF has grown into one of the largest and most influential events in the fields of investment and financing at home and abroad and it has received wide attention of insiders from all over the world. More partners of the CIPEF and members of Equity Exchange participated in the event and investment institutions for renminbi business became the participants and then developed into an important group among the attendees. The number of equity financing deals has been constantly increasing. Insiders said the forum is the country’s beneficial attempt to construct a multi-level capital market.
